At the trial of Celeste Beard Johnson, unsigned and computer generated letters became part of the circumstantial evidence presented to the jury.  Three and four times, these letters mysteriously showed up and the court allowed them to document Celeste's thoughts. It seemed that when theory needed to be proven, an anonymous letter was produced.

Nancy Hall, Celeste's mother, kept letters and cards sent to her from her daughter, Celeste.  They provide a dramatic difference in the events that occurred before and after the shooting of Steven Beard, Celeste's husband.  During the five years it took to appeal Celeste's conviction,
Nancy Hall compiled the letters from Celeste along with trial testimony,
to prove that the jury was wrong to convict.
Wounded Bird- ISBN:  978-1-4389-3390-0 includes letters from the Gatesville,
Texas prison where Celeste is serving time for the crime she did not commit.
